Living close to nature is one of the joys of Sundown Resort—but it also means we need to be smart about sharing space with wildlife. Black bears are occasionally seen in our area, and with a few simple steps, we can all help keep both residents and bears safe:

✅ Secure food and trash – Never leave food, coolers, or garbage outside. Use bear-proof containers if available.

✅ Clean grills and outdoor cooking areas – Bears are drawn to food smells.

✅ Never feed wildlife – It’s unsafe for you and harmful to the animals.

✅ Stay alert when walking – Travel in groups when possible and make noise to avoid surprising a bear.

✅ If you see a bear – Stay calm, back away slowly, and never approach or run.
